What is the difference between molded case circuit breakers and miniature circuit breakers?

Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) and Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB) are two common low-voltage circuit breakers, mainly used for circuit protection and safety control of electrical equipment. 1. Structural design


Molded case circuit breaker (MCCB)

Casing material: high-strength plastic casing, more complex internal structure, modular design.

Adjustability: Some models can adjust the tripping current (such as thermal magnetic release).

Modular accessories: shunt release, auxiliary contacts and other extended function modules can be installed.

 

Miniature circuit breaker (MCB)

Compact design: small size, integrated structure, usually fixed parameters (non-adjustable).

Standardization: meets modular installation standards (such as rail installation), suitable for dense arrangement.

 

2. Current level


MCCB:

Rated current: usually 10A~2500A, suitable for large current circuits.

Breaking capacity: relatively high (up to tens of kA), able to cut off short-circuit large currents.

 

MCB:

MCCB:

MCB:
